Poll: Specter Leads Toomey In Pennsylvania

Fri Mar 12 2010 18:35:00 GMT-0500 (EST)  |  by Arjun Jaikumar

Independent pollster Research 2000 shows Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter maintaining a lead in Pennsylvania, beating Republican Pat Toomey 47% to 41%.

Senator Specter’s lead has remained more or less constant since last summer, when he led 45% to 40%.

With Republican Pat Toomey aligning himself with the right wing of his party (recently admitting voting he would have voted against the bipartisan Senate jobs bill), Senator Specter’s resilience in polling is quite welcome news.

Netroots blogger Nate Silver wrote earlier this week that Research 2000 is biased (he called it a "house effect") toward Democrats:

Remember the poll Research 2000 released one day before the MA special election?

I'll save you the trouble... it said Coakley was tied with Scott Brown. Please remind us who won the race.
