The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee today is pleased to announce that veteran Democratic strategist and campaign manager, Mindy Myers, will serve as the Committee’s Executive Director – the first female to hold this position.
“The Senate Democrats are the last line of defense between the incoming Trump Administration and the damaging policies that threaten the economic prospects of the middle class, the health security of seniors, and the march toward greater social justice. We must hold the Blue Line,” said Senator-elect Chris Van Hollen, incoming Chairman of the DSCC. “That’s why I could not be more pleased to welcome Mindy Myers on board to lead the Committee’s work this cycle. She has the unparalleled experience of running successful Senate campaigns, managing the Independent Expenditures of the DSCC and working at senior levels with our Senators. She has what it takes to build the strong team that can get the job done for our candidates and the American people.”
“I am very pleased to be selected as the Executive Director of the DSCC and look forward to working with DSCC Chair Chris Van Hollen and all our Democratic Senators to ensure that Democrats are in a strong position in the 2018 cycle. We are committed to building a top-notch and diverse staff to win in 2018 and I am excited to get to work right away,” said Myers.
Myers served as campaign manager for the successful campaigns of Senators Elizabeth Warren, Sheldon Whitehouse and Richard Blumenthal. She ran the DSCC’s Independent Expenditure efforts last cycle. Myers also served as New Hampshire State Director during the general election for Obama for America in 2008. She also served as Chief of Staff to Senators Elizabeth Warren and Sheldon Whitehouse.
Over the last two weeks Van Hollen and Senate leader Schumer led an extensive search process for the committee’s top staff position that included over a dozen interviews with a diverse group of talented Democratic campaign strategists.
