DSCC Outraises NRSC For Third Straight Fundraising Quarter

DSCC Outraises NRSC In September By Nearly $3 Million

DSCC Cash-On-Hand Advantage Increases To $5 Million Over NRSC

Today, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee announces it has outraised the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee for the third straight fundraising quarter while increasing its cash-on-hand advantage to $5 million over the NRSC. The DSCC raised $10.2 million in the third quarter, $1.5 million more than it raised in the third quarter of 2005. The DSCC was aided by an especially strong month of September, during which it outraised the NRSC by nearly $3 million. With the 2010 mid-term elections only twelve months away, the DSCC is in strong financial shape, with double the cash-on-hand of the NRSC and an energized donor base across the country.

“Despite the troubling economic conditions, Democrats across the country are energized and united heading into the mid-term elections, which is reflected in the continued strength of our fundraising numbers,” said J.B. Poersch, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Executive Director. “For the third straight quarter, the DSCC outraised the NRSC and has a significant cash-on-hand advantage heading into 2010. Our donors are energized every time they see Republicans wipe their hands clean of any responsibility for turning our economy around and reforming health care. We will continue to work hard to raise the funds necessary to maintain and expand our Democratic majority in the Senate.”

The DSCC raised $10,165,533.81 in the third quarter of 2009, including $5,920,930.24 in the month of September alone. The DSCC now has $10,310,148.52 cash-on-hand.
