With 10 days until a potential government shutdown, the DSCC is launching a five-figure digital ad campaign highlighting that vulnerable Republican Senators, including Senator Pat Toomey, have previously supported efforts to defund Planned Parenthood. The ads question whether Toomey and others are willing to shut down the government to defund Planned Parenthood – a plan being pushed by some Congressional Republicans.

“Pat Toomey has repeatedly voted to defund Planned Parenthood, and with just 10 days left before a potential government shutdown, he has to decide if he’s willing to shut down the government to get his way,” said DSCC National Press Secretary Sadie Weiner. “As a potential shutdown creeps closer, we will see if Senator Toomey sticks with his votes to defund Planned Parenthood or if he is so scared about his re-election that he flip-flops in a panic. These ads will highlight that Senator Toomey and extremists in Congress are playing a dangerous game, and Pennsylvania families deserve better.”
