DSCC Statement on CBO Score of Alexander-Murray

In response to the Congressional Budget Office score of the bipartisan Alexander-Murray health care bill revealing it will reduce the deficit by nearly $4 billion, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement:

“Supporting this proposal should be a no-brainer for every Republican, but these days GOP Senate candidates are more worried about their primary politics than doing what’s right for hardworking families. Voters will hold every Republican Senate candidate accountable for their health care agenda that spikes costs and strips coverage — and if they can’t support a bill that slashes the deficit, it will be just another demonstration that they are looking out for their own political interests at the expense of middle class families.”
