In response to Corey Stewart’s campaign announcement in Virginia’s Senate race, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement:
“Corey Stewart’s announcement today can be explained by the same motivation that defines his every action: a pathological need for attention and commitment to put himself first. His candidacy – fresh off a primary loss – is a sad reflection of the recruitment failures Republicans have faced across the country, and in the Senate he’d be a rubber-stamp for Donald Trump’s harmful agenda that hurts Virginia’s working families.”
