“Evan Bayh was the decisive victor in tonight’s debate, as his long record of fighting for Hoosier families clearly outshone Congressman Young’s history of harmful policies that put the special interests before Indiana. Despite being pressed, Congressman Young had no answers for his opposition to the auto rescue, his support for tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas, or his devastating plans to end Medicare as we know it. Hoosiers know that Evan Bayh is a pragmatic, bipartisan leader who will always put them first, and that’s why they will send him back to the U.S. Senate in November.”
