DSCC Statement on FLARA’s Call For Investigation Of Scott’s Nursing Home Scandal

In response to the Florida Alliance for Retired Americans call this morning for an investigation of Governor Scott’s nursing home scandal and his decision to delete voicemails he received — a potential violation of Florida’s disclosure laws — Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement:

“The details that have emerged about Rick Scott’s escalating nursing home scandal — including his record of slashing protections for seniors and hiding critical information in order to benefit his political allies — have only heightened the need for a careful and thorough investigation. Scott’s decision to delete these voicemails in defiance of public record laws reeks of the same self-serving motivation that has defined his brand of politics. We urge Scott to listen to Florida’s seniors who are demanding that he cooperate fully with this and all other investigations into his role in this tragedy.”
