DSCC Communications Director Sadie Weiner released the following statement after Hillary Clinton’s speech on Donald Trump’s divisive and hate-filled campaign.
“This afternoon, Hillary Clinton laid out how Donald Trump has run a campaign based on hate, fear mongering, fringe conspiracy theories, and textbook racism and bigotry that has caused many Republican leaders and national security experts to stand up and reject their nominee. But not vulnerable Republican Senators and candidates. Instead, from Kelly Ayotte to Marco Rubio, and from Joe Heck to Rob Portman, Senate Republicans have refused to back away from their Trump support even as he continues to prove how unfit he is for the office. Their continued support for Donald Trump is as politically calculating as it is shameful, and they simply can’t be trusted to put country before party.”
