DSCC Statement On Karl Rove’s Initial Attempt At Saving The GOP Senate

DSCC Communications Director Justin Barasky released the following statement regarding Karl Rove’s new dark money ads aimed at propping up Senators Kirk, Portman, Burr, Toomey & Ayotte:

“After the Republican majority spent their first months in power taking us to the brink of a DHS shutdown, blocking the confirmation of a qualified Attorney General and injecting abortion politics into a bill about human trafficking, it’s no surprise that Karl Rove is dumping millions into dark money special interest ads aimed at propping up vulnerable Republican Senators who need a boost. Unfortunately for Rove, voters know that Senators like Mark Kirk, Rob Portman, Richard Burr, Pat Toomey and Kelly Ayotte have each voted multiple times to end Medicare as we know it and increase costs for seniors. Karl Rove & Washington Republicans know their incumbents are in big trouble in 2016 and will stop at nothing to try and buy this election, but the indefensible records of these Republicans can’t be bought away, and voters will hold them accountable.”
