In response to the Congressional Budget Office score of the Obamacare Repeal Reconciliation Act of 2017, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement:
“In every version of the Republican health care plan, the losers are hardworking Americans who according to the latest CBO score would see their premiums double, coverage for preexisting conditions stripped and vital services like substance abuse treatment programs jeopardized. The GOP’s proposals are unpopular, expensive, and they will be on the ballot in 2018 — every Republican Senate candidate will be held accountable for them.”
“Today Senators Heller and Flake made it clear they’re willing to go along with Washington Republicans and President Trump — even if it means increasing costs and slashing coverage for the middle class in Arizona and Nevada. Republicans like Governor Sandoval and former Governor Brewer are speaking out against the GOP’s proposals — but instead of standing up for the working families of their states, Flake and Heller are only looking out for themselves.”
