DSCC Communications Director Sadie Weiner released the following statement on Republicans’ silence in the wake of Donald Trump’s dangerous attacks on our democracy:
“After months of sticking by Donald Trump and his toxic and offensive rhetoric, Republican Senators and Senate candidates have proven time and again that they will support Donald Trump no matter his dangerous behavior. Yet, it is still shocking that these candidates stood, and even still stand, with a man who questions the legitimacy of our elections and the very foundation of our democracy. Republican Senate candidates were complicit in creating the Party of Trump, and their silence in the wake of his claims of a rigged election are both irresponsible and unacceptable.”
