Today Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement:
“The Senate has voted to end the shutdown but the stain it has left on the GOP and their Senate candidates won’t wash out before November. Republicans have spent the last year showing Americans what their total control of Congress means for working families: more expensive health care costs, a tax plan that puts the wealthy and corporations first, and now an irresponsible and unnecessary government shutdown. What voters will remember from this episode is simple: the Republican Congress isn’t working for them.”
