DSCC Communications Director Sadie Weiner issued the following statement on tonight’s Republican primary results:
“Who’s afraid of Donald Trump? Republican Senate incumbents and candidates who won’t even say his name and who are ultimately to blame for the rise of this toxic, divisive element that has overtaken their party. Even as hopefuls hold out for John Kasich, who has no path forward, Republican down-ballot candidates are preparing for the damaging frontrunner: just today a new super PAC launched to shield already vulnerable campaigns from Trump shrapnel. It won’t work. Distancing themselves from Donald Trump is going to prove increasingly difficult as he continues to win delegates, and the GOP should get used to seeing ads like these on their local TV.
Earlier today, the DSCC released “Support” and a new website, www.PartyofTrump.com, as part of a national campaign highlighting Republican Senate candidates’ allegiance to Donald Trump.
