GOP Just Can’t Help Themselves On Women’s Health

After playing politics for months with national security, the new Republican Senate majority has moved on to play politics with survivors of human trafficking. As the Senate considers an anti-human trafficking bill, it has come to light that Republicans snuck in a provision that would prohibit any money in the bill from being spent on abortions.

“Because playing politics with national security wasn’t enough, now Senators like Mark Kirk, Pat Toomey and Kelly Ayotte are playing politics with women’s health while the well-being of survivors of human trafficking hangs in the balance,” said Sadie Weiner, DSCC National Press Secretary. “Voters will remember these kinds of despicable political games come 2016. The anti-human trafficking bill has bipartisan support and it should be cleared of any politicking that would prevent it from becoming law as quickly as possible.”
