In response to the release of the Joint Committee on Taxation’s dynamic score – which found that the Republican tax plan would add $1 trillion to the deficit, breaking Republican promises to the contrary – Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokesman David Bergstein issued the following statement:
“Republicans have broken promise after promise to the American people to try and sneak through this anti-middle class tax plan and the Joint Committee on Taxation’s report is only the latest example. From Mitch McConnell’s claim that their plan wouldn’t raise taxes on the middle class to their false assurances that it wouldn’t explode the deficit, Republicans have repeatedly lied to Americans about what’s in their plan while blowing kisses to their millionaire donors, and voters will hold them accountable.”
