Bill also guts coverage for preexisting conditions, allows insurers to charge older Americans up to 5 times more
A new report from the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) reveals that the latest version of Flake’s toxic health care agenda, Graham-Cassidy-Heller, would slash funding for Medicaid in Arizona by $6.9 billion — spiking costs and jeopardizing coverage for hardworking Arizonans.
The CBPP also found that Flake’s bill would gut coverage for pre-existing conditions, and The Kaiser Family Foundation found it would allow insurers to charge older Americans up to 5 times more.
Senator Flake announced his support for the bill over the weekend.
“This report confirms that Flake’s latest health care plan would be as expensive and horrific for Arizonans as his previous proposals: slashing Medicaid in his own state and imposing an age tax on older Americans while spiking costs and stripping away coverage for pre-existing conditions,” said David Bergstein of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. “Flake’s health care agenda is despised by voters of every political persuasion, and if he continues pushing forward this toxic bill voters will hold him accountable in 2018.”
