It’s been more than a week since Republicans announced their latest, stunning effort to make coverage for pre-existing conditions unconstitutional and new reports confirm this decision could impactemployer-provided coverage, as well – impacting thousands more Michiganders in addition to the more than 4.1 million Michigan individuals who have pre-existing conditions. Still, Sandy Pensler and John James are supporting the GOP’s health care agenda that jeopardizes coverage for pre-existing conditions.
“After a week spent refusing to stand up for Michiganders who want insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions, it’s clear Sandy Pensler and John James are once again putting their own political self-interests ahead of their state,” said Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman David Bergstein. “Pensler and James supported a plan in Congress that would jeopardize coverage for pre-existing conditions, spike premiums, and impose an age tax on older Americans – so it’s no surprise they’re refusing to speak out against this new attempt to sabotage Michigan residents’ health care.”
