With Richard Burr’s Senate race quickly tightening to a 2-point affair, it appears he’s going to try and attach himself to presumptive nominee Donald Trump in the hopes of turning things around. In a series of tweets last night, Burr not only announced his support for Trump, but said he looked “forward to working with Mr. Trump.”
Burr’s embrace of Trump makes one ask—exactly what does he look forward to working with Donald Trump on?
“The fact that Richard Burr is eagerly looking forward to working with Donald Trump proves he’s even more out-of-touch with North Carolinians than previously thought,” said DSCC spokesperson Sam Lau. “No matter if Burr prefers teaming up with Trump on obstructing the Supreme Court nomination process, or blocking an increase to the minimum wage, or denigrating women and punishing them for getting an abortion, he’s simply refusing to stand up for his constituents. If he continues to align himself with the party’s standard bearer, North Carolinians will look forward to working to retire Richard Burr this November.”
