A new report found Senator Thom Tillis missed a Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee hearing so he could raise money for his struggling re-election campaign. While the committee considered legislation critical to North Carolina servicemembers and veterans, like expanding access to mental health services for veterans and supporting victims of toxic exposure at Camp Lejeune, there was “no evidence of Tillis attending the hearing.”
If it weren’t bad enough Tillis was caught skipping out on the job he’s trying to keep, WBTV also reported he “attacked his then-opponent for doing the same thing in 2014.” WATCH:
“WBTV has confirmed Tillis did not attend a hearing of the Senate VA Committee held Wednesday… that same day, Tillis did attend a fundraiser in Greensboro.”
