Rokita and Messer’s Plan to Force Hoosiers to Pay More For Less Care Moves Forward

In response to Senate Republicans voting to advance Congressmen Rokita and Messer’s toxic health care plan, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman David Bergstein issued the following statement:

“Congressmen Rokita and Messer’s plan to spike health care costs and strip coverage for Hoosiers just came one step closer to becoming a reality. Their plan would impose an age tax on older Americans, increase premiums by 20 percent, and strip away coverage for pre-existing conditions — all to give big insurance companies and the wealthy a massive tax break. This vote continues to guarantee that Congressmen Rokita and Messer’s horrific and expensive health care agenda will be front and center and, if either of them decide to run for Senate, voters will hold them accountable.”
