In response to Senate Republicans voting to advance the toxic health care agenda crafted by Governor Scott, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman David Bergstein issued the following statement:
“Governor Scott’s plan to spike health care costs and strip coverage for Floridians just came one step closer to becoming a reality. Scott has consistently bragged about helping to craft the Republican bill that would impose an age tax on older Americans, increase premiums by 20 percent, and strip away coverage for pre-existing conditions — all to give big insurance companies and the wealthy, including himself, a massive tax break. This is just another example that Scott only looks out for himself, while hardworking Floridians pay the price. If he chooses to run for the Senate in 2018, voters will hold him accountable.”
