With Republicans in Cleveland to rally around Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, the DSCC will highlight that vulnerable Senators and Senate candidates are sharing the stage with Trump whether or not they’ve decided to show up in Cleveland. That’s because they share many of the same dangerous policy positions that Trump promotes that would be devastating to America’s hard-working middle class families. Each day, we’ll spotlight an issue where GOP Senators and candidates stand with Trump.
Kelly Ayotte may be avoiding Cleveland this week while Donald Trump takes the stage at the convention, but she’s right there alongside him in his support of defunding Planned Parenthood and allowing the government to interfere with a woman’s private health care decisions.
Planned Parenthood provides critical health care services to 2.5 million Americans across the country, including 14,000 in New Hampshire, but Senator Kelly Ayotte has voted six times to defund the organization. In a Trump presidency, Ayotte would be a reliable vote in the Senate for limiting this safe and affordable access to basic health care services.
“Kelly Ayotte is #AllIn for Donald Trump and his reckless policy positions, even though she’s not in Cleveland this week,” said DSCC Spokesperson Sam Lau. “As she has already demonstrated, Ayotte would be a reliable vote for Trump as he seeks to interfere with a woman’s private health care decisions and defund Planned Parenthood, even though thousands of Granite Staters rely on it for their health care. New Hampshire deserves a Senator who will fight for them, instead of the reckless Trump-Pence agenda.”
