DSCC National Press Secretary Lauren Passalacqua issued the following statement after Senator Marco Rubio voted against the latest bipartisan No Fly, No Buy Senate proposal:
“Just a day after launching his re-election campaign in the wake of the Orlando shooting, Senator Marco Rubio proved today that he can’t be trusted to put the best interests of Florida families first. Preventing people we don’t allow to get on a plane from being able to purchase a gun shouldn’t be a tough call, but Rubio is more invested in pleasing his Washington special interests than preventing more gun violence in his community. Floridians are demanding action, and Rubio will need to answer for his shameful vote.”
