Two Years Later: Republican Senators Are Still Trying to Erase Protections for Pre-Existing Conditions

On the two-year anniversary of Senate Republicans’ vote to advance their legislation to erase protections for pre-existing conditions coverage and other consumer benefits DSCC spokesperson Stewart Boss released the following statement:

“It’s been two years since Senate Republicans voted to move forward with a reckless plan that would send costs soaring while gutting core protections, including coverage for pre-existing conditions. Since then, Republicans have continued their dangerous efforts to drive up premiums and drag down the quality of care – ensuring that health care remains a top-of-mind issue for voters and a losing one for Republicans.”

The DSCC continues to hold Republicans accountable for their dangerous attacks on Americans’ care, running digitalads and shining a light on Republicans’ toxic health care record.
