DSCC Communications Director Sadie Weiner issued the following statement on the Trump/Pence presidential ticket vulnerable Republican Senators and candidates have pledged to support:
“As Republican Senators and candidates desperately look for any way to justify their support of Donald Trump, we expect they will go out of their way to embrace Mike Pence, which in reality is nothing more than a double down on their shared out-of-touch agendas. Pence led the way on a deeply discriminatory anti-LGBT law that cost his state tens of millions of dollars, Senate Republicans, was willing to shut down the government over funding for women’s health services. And like Trump and too many Senate Republicans on the ballot, Pence would rather fear monger and divide communities than pass commonsense immigration reform. So when a Republican Senator or candidate near you gives Mike Pence a giant bearhug, remember that they’ve aligned themselves with the most extreme, divisive, and toxic Presidential ticket in recent memory not once, but twice.”
