New ads remind Michigan commuters that Mike Rogers continues to dismiss their economic pain as gas prices surge toward $5 a gallon
Today, as gas prices across Michigan surge toward new highs of nearly $5 a gallon, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is launching a new ad campaign, “Price Surge,” slamming Mike Rogers for dismissing Michiganders’ economic pain, saying: “We’re gonna be fine. We’ve got plenty of oil.”
Despite Rogers’ “failing prediction” that the conflict in Iran “would not last longer than 60 days,” Michigan commuters are footing the bill. Now, as “Michigan gas prices jump the most in the nation” and voters who are already struggling to make ends meet contend with “the highest [gas prices] in the state since 2022,” Price Hike Mike thinks the pain at the pump is completely “fine.”
The new ad, “Price Surge,” will run on streaming audio platforms like Pandora, Sirius, and Spotify during commuting hours and will reach persuadable voters across Michigan. The ad will reach Michigan voters on their drives to and from work, when they’re most likely to be filling up the tank, or when they drive by a gas station flashing “$5/gallon.”
Listen to “Price Surge” here:
From DSCC spokesperson Monica Robinson: “Michiganders were already getting crushed by higher costs of health care and groceries, and now they’re paying even more at the pump because of Mike Rogers’ price-hiking agenda. Price Hike Mike is shamefully dismissing voters’ economic pain because he’s more concerned about delivering for his special interest donors and fellow multi-millionaires than standing up for hardworking Michigan families who are paying record-high gas prices. In November, Michigan voters will tell Price Hike Mike to hit the road again.”
