DSCC Announces Christie Roberts as Executive Director, Jessica Knight Henry as Deputy Executive Director for 2022 Cycle to Defend Democrats’ Majority

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) today announced veteran Senate campaign strategist Christie Roberts will serve as Executive Director and longtime political operative Jessica Knight Henry will serve as Deputy Executive Director and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the 2022 election cycle.

“Christie and Jessica are both extraordinarily accomplished strategists who know how to build diverse coalitions and win challenging Senate races across the country,” said Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. “Their seasoned leadership and commitment to working with our grassroots allies to engage voters will put the DSCC in the strongest possible position, ensuring Senate Democrats can continue to deliver meaningful progress for the American people.”

“As we work to protect and expand our Democratic majority, we need our party’s most talented operatives at the helm guiding our strategic efforts to win these tough races,” said DSCC Chair and Michigan Senator Gary Peters. “I know from firsthand experience how Christie and Jessica helped lead the charge to flip the Senate last cycle, and I’m confident the incredible and diverse team they assemble will lead our Democratic incumbents and challengers to more success in 2022.”

“Senate Democrats are fighting relentlessly to beat this pandemic, help working families get ahead, advance racial justice, and stand up to the GOP’s special interest corruption and dangerous conspiracy theories threatening our democracy,” said Roberts. “With so much on the line, I’m thrilled to be back at the DSCC leading the fight to strengthen our majority and I’m looking forward to doing everything possible to seize opportunities across this map.”

“Whether it’s addressing voting rights, making health care more affordable, combating climate change or tackling discrimination and inequality head on, our Senate majority is ready to deliver real progress for the American people,” said Knight Henry. “In partnership with our allies and grassroots supporters across the country, we can re-elect every one of our outstanding Democratic incumbents, flip even more Republican seats, and build a future that’s more equitable for all of us.”

Christie Roberts served as a Senior Advisor to the DSCC in the 2020 cycle, playing an instrumental role in defeating two Republican incumbents and guiding Democrats to victory in the Georgia runoffs that secured Democrats’ majority in the Senate. She was Campaign Manager for Senator Jon Tester’s successful 2018 re-election in Montana and Research Director on his 2012 campaign. Roberts has also worked at the DSCC in a number of roles including Political Director in 2016 and Research Director in 2014. Roberts is the second woman to ever run Senate Democrats’ campaign arm.

Jessica Knight Henry served as the Political and Engagement Director for the DSCC in the 2020 cycle. Prior to joining the DSCC, she was the National Development Director for Supermajority. Knight Henry’s other experience includes political and fundraising work for the Democratic National Committee, work for a national, nonpartisan civic engagement group focused on increasing the rate of voter registration in communities of color, managing the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund and serving as Executive Director for the Congressional Black Caucus PAC.
