DSCC Announces Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen To Lead The Women’s Senate Network For 2022 Cycle

The DSCC announced today that Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen will chair the Women’s Senate Network for the 2022 cycle, leading the committee’s program dedicated to organizing support and raising resources to elect more women to the U.S. Senate. Senator Rosen defeated a Republican incumbent to flip Nevada’s Senate seat in 2018.

“We need more Democratic women running for office, and we need more Democratic women serving in the Senate,” said Senator Jacky Rosen. “Electing more women means having more leaders in our democracy working tirelessly to build an economy and health care system that empowers women. I know from my own race how important the Women’s Senate Network is, and I’m ready to get to work with the DSCC to help ensure we return our fantastic incumbents like Catherine Cortez Masto and Maggie Hassan to the Senate and grow our majority with new women leaders.”

“The Women’s Senate Network has done critical work to elect and re-elect so many of our phenomenal colleagues, and I’m proud to work alongside Jacky as we focus on 2022,” said DSCC Chair Senator Gary Peters. “Because of dedicated work over many cycles, we’ve significantly grown the number of Democratic women in the Senate and our nation is better because of it. We have an important task ahead of us to protect and expand our majority, and I know Jacky and the Women’s Senate Network will be key partners in this fight.”

The Women’s Senate Network program raises millions of dollars each cycle, including grassroots supporters making small-dollar donations. These resources helped re-elect Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Tina Smith and support women challengers across the map in 2020, and they provided support to now-Senators Rosen and Kyrsten Sinema and nine other Democratic women senators who won re-election in 2018. The Women’s Senate Network has been a key DSCC program since it was established by Senator Debbie Stabenow in 2001. Two recent chairs of the Women’s Senate Network, Catherine Cortez Masto (2018) and Maggie Hassan (2020), are running for re-election in 2022.
