Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, issued the following endorsement of Army Veteran James Mackler in the Tennessee U.S. Senate race:
“James Mackler served our country with courage and integrity, and he will bring those values to the U.S. Senate. He will work tirelessly on behalf of Tennesseans to protect pre-existing conditions coverage and health care access in rural communities, cut red tape to help Tennessee’s small businesses, and take on the special interests that have corroded our democracy and hurt Tennessee families. In the Senate, James will be a voice for all Tennesseans, and we are proud to support him in this race.”
James Mackler is a decorated U.S. Army veteran who was awarded an Air Medal and a Combat Action Badge for his service flying Black Hawk helicopters in Iraq. Following his deployment, he continued his service as a JAG attorney, prosecuting military sexual harassment and assault crimes and holding war criminals accountable. James is running to rein in the influence of corporate special interests, restore our democracy, and ensure all Tennesseans have a voice in Washington. Since launching his campaign for U.S. Senate, he has earned endorsements from VoteVets, Serve America, and from former Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen.
