DSCC Launches 1st Ad Following GOP Supreme Court Opinion Overturning Roe v. Wade: “On Fire.”

Ads will reach voters through a digital homepage takeover of MSNBC.com

Today the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is launching its first advertisement in response to the Republican Supreme Court’s draft ruling overturning Roe v. Wade: “On Fire.”

The spot highlights how the 2022 election will now determine if women are subject to cruel new punishments and restrictions on their health care – and how if Senate Republicans have their way they will try to ban abortion nationally without exceptions, restrict access to birth control, and take away women’s rights to make their own health care decisions.

From Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Nora Keefe: “A Republican Senate would light women’s rights on fire: banning abortion nationwide without exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother, jeopardizing birth control, and taking away women’s rights to make our own health care decisions. This election will determine whether the GOP is able to put in place these new, cruel, and punishing restrictions on women and families – and for voters the stakes of protecting and expanding our Democratic Senate Majority has never been higher.”

The ad campaign will begin on Wednesday with a homepage take-over of MSNBC.com – blanketing every available spot on the website – as part of an initial five figure buy.

Transcript:

If Senate Republicans win in November,
they will light women’s rights on fire.
They will make abortion illegal everywhere.
Punishing women,
even in cases of rape, incest, or to save a mother’s life.
And they’re coming after birth control.
Unless… we vote.
If we protect and expand our Democratic majority in the Senate,
we’ll protect women’s rights to make their own decisions.
Fight with us.
