REPUBLICANS (STILL) MISLEAD ON PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS. Republicans are spending the final weeks of this election misleading voters on their record of trying to eliminate those protections:
FactCheck.org found that while the GOP claims “pre-existing conditions are safe,” in reality they’re anything but. The lawsuit being pushed by Republican Attorneys General including Patrick Morrisey and Josh Hawley would eliminate protections that prevent “those with pre-existing conditions from being denied a policy or charged higher premiums.”
HAWLEY DOUBLES DOWN ON TOXIC PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS LAWSUIT. The St Louis American reports when asked if he “regrets” his decision to push the harmful lawsuit, Hawley “doubled down on his lawsuit to remove health-care protections for nearly 2.5 million Missourians:”
The following protections will be eliminated if Hawley’s lawsuit is successful:
If Republicans want to support an effort that actually protects pre-existing conditions coverage, Democrats have a resolution they can join…
SELF-SERVING SCOTT KEEPS LYING. Self-Serving Rick Scott resorted (again) to lying about Bill Nelson’s record and his own at the first debate between the candidates yesterday… We have a list of the seven worst lies Rick Scott told that prove once again Floridians can’t trust what he says or does.

TENNESSEAN: WHILE CAMPAIGNING ON TAX CUTS, OPIOIDS, BLACKBURN MISSES KEY VOTES. Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn continues to miss key votes on the issues she claims to care most about. The Tennessean found that despite running on the GOP’s sham tax plan in August, “last week, when the House approved the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act of 2018, Blackburn did not cast a vote.” While the opioid crisis continues to ravage Tennessee, “the same day of the tax cuts legislation, Blackburn did not vote on a compromise bill between the House and Senate related to opioids.”
#OTD IN 2011, RENACCI CALLED CONVICTED FELON BEN SUAREZ. While Congressman Jim Renacci may want “voters to forget he was once a marionette for disgraced North Canton businessman and convicted felon Ben Suarez,” the court records don’t lie. On this day in 2011, Renacci and Suarez shared one of more than 40 calls exchanged between November 2010 and May 2012.
HEITKAMP OUTRUNNING 2012 MARGINS IN KEY TURF. The North Dakota Democratic-NPL polling reports that Heidi Heitkamp holds a “strong lead” in “key eastern North Dakota regions which encompass approximately 45 percent of the state’s total electorate.” See the full release here.
