The DSCC released a new TV ad in Iowa’s Senate race, “Left Behind,” spotlighting Senator Joni Ernst’s record of abandoning Iowans and selling out to corporate special interests.
Senator Ernst promised she would make Washington squeal when she got to the Senate, but she broke her promise by supporting proposals that would “essentially end Medicare” and increase costs for Iowa seniors, pushing plans that would raid Social Security, and even voting to eliminate protections for the more than one million of Iowans with pre-existing conditions. Meanwhile, Senator Ernst voted for trillions in tax cuts for corporations and special interest donors, like the ones funding her campaign. After six years in Washington, it’s clear that Senator Ernst “will not stand up for Iowa farmers or workers.”
The ad is the fourth to run in Iowa from the DSCC IE and is part of the committee’s previously announced offensive investments in key battleground states.
“Sometimes things get forgotten. Abandoned. Left behind. Like what Joni Ernst has done to Iowans. Ernst supported a plan the Wall Street Journal said would essentially end Medicare, wanted to cut Social Security, and voted to eliminate protections for pre-existing conditions. But Ernst voted to give trillions in tax cuts to corporate special interests, like those funding her campaign. With a record like that, maybe it’s time we left Joni Ernst behind.”
