DSCC Releases New TV Ad in Montana: “Dishonest”

The DSCC released a new TV ad, “Dishonest,” spotlighting Senator Steve Daines’s record of being “China’s ambassador in Congress” at the expense of hardworking Montanans.

In Washington, Senator Daines has earned a reputation as a “China cheerleader” – and for good reason. After the coronavirus hit, Daines praised China for “aggressively work[ing] to contain” the virus. Then, Daines voted for a corporate bailout that gave Chinese companies hundreds of millions of dollars. And while Daines was acting as “China’s ambassador in Congress,” he was voting against additional unemployment benefits for Montanans and aid for local governments in need. It’s just another reason why Montanans cannot trust Daines to put them first.

The ad is the eight to run in Montana from the DSCC IE and is part of the committee’s previously announced offensive television and digital paid investments in key battleground states.

Dishonest

Transcript:

“Steve Daines was called “China’s Ambassador in Congress” and he takes that responsibility seriously. When coronavirus hit, many stood up to China, but Steve Daines actually voted with DC politicians for a corporate bailout that gave Chinese companies over two hundred million dollars. But at the same time Daines opposed additional unemployment benefits for us and health resources for counties in need. Once again, Steve Daines put China before us. ”
