DSCC Releases New TV Ad in Montana: “Running”

The DSCC released a new TV ad, “Running,” holding Senator Steve Daines accountable for putting himself and corporate special interests ahead of what’s right for Montana.

Once called “China’s ambassador in Congress,” Senator Daines is now parroting talking points from his party bosses to try to rewrite his record. Senator Daines spent six years in China helping set up factories while the company was eliminating 4,000 American jobs. When Senator Daines got to Washington, he voted to protect tax breaks for corporations that moved American jobs overseas and voted against a bipartisan measure that would crack down on unfair Chinese trade practices. Daines’ election year flip-flop from “China cheerleader” to “anti-Beijing hawk” is just another reason why Montanans cannot trust Daines to put them first.

The ad is the fourth to run in Montana from the DSCC IE and is part of the committee’s previously announced offensive television and digital paid investments in key battleground states.

Running

Transcript:

“When running for Senate, Steve Daines talks tough about China. When running overseas factories? Not so much. As a corporate executive, Daines spent six years in China starting factories there as his company eliminated jobs here. Then Daines went to Washington and voted to protect tax breaks for companies that shipped jobs overseas and voted against cracking down on unfair Chinese trade practices. Steve Daines, can’t trust him to be for Montana.”
