DSCC Releases New Video Highlighting Oz’s 2nd Debate Gaffe: “Not A Television Show”

Today the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is releasing a new video, “Not A Television Show,” highlighting TV actor Mehmet Oz’s out-of-touch admission during the Pennsylvania Senate debate that he thinks the Senate campaign is just like “a television show.”

The admission is just the latest evidence that Oz is a fraud and a TV scam artist who will do, say, and sell anything to help himself – no matter who gets hurt.

Following the debate, Oz has also faced a wave of negative news coverage for his statement that local political leaders like Doug Mastriano should make decisions about a woman’s ability to have an abortion.

From Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Patrick Burgwinkle: “Even though Oz spent years in a TV studio he made multiple damaging gaffes during the debate, including his telling admission that he views his campaign ‘like this is a television show.’ As a TV scam artist he made a fortune pushing quack cures and fraudulent products, no matter who got hurt – and he’s brought the same mentality and disregard for Pennsylvanians to his campaign. That’s why voters will send him back to his TV studio in November, not the U.S. Senate.”

  • WHYY: ‘Very serious stakes’: Why Pa.’s doctors are rallying against Oz’s Senate bid. “Collectively known as the Real Doctors Against Oz, a growing number of physicians across Pennsylvania are speaking out against Oz’s political ambitions. Their reasoning is simple: Oz’s history as a television physician undermines the trust of their profession, subsequently threatening the health of their patients. They believe if Oz is elected, he would exploit his constituents just as he’s done to his viewers.”
