Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chair Sen. Gary Peters released the following statement on Cheri Beasley’s primary victory in the North Carolina Senate race:
“Cheri Beasley’s groundbreaking candidacy is rooted in the values of hard work, integrity, and justice that have guided her service as a public defender, judge, and the first Black woman to serve as Chief Justice of North Carolina’s Supreme Court – and those are the values she’ll bring to representing North Carolinians in the U.S. Senate. While the Republicans in this race have spent their time and dollars tarnishing each other with brutal attacks, Cheri is laser-focused on the issues that matter most to working families in her state – and that’s exactly why voters will elect her in November.”
