DSCC Statement On Don Bolduc

Today, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Amanda Sherman-Baity released the following statement on Don Bolduc:

“Republicans tried everything they could to stop Bolduc in this primary because even they know his dangerous conspiracy theories are totally out-of-step with the voters that will decide New Hampshire’s general election. His dangerous ideas – like a national abortion ban and defunding Social Security – will lead his campaign to defeat. And we agree with the many, many New Hampshire Republicans who said Bolduc has no place representing their state in the Senate.”

What to know about Don Bolduc:

Bolduc would strip Granite State women of their freedom to make their own health care decisions.

• Bolduc said that people should “rejoice” at the Supreme Court overturning Roe.

• Bolduc has compared abortion to murder, and said he would “never compromise” in pushing for anti-choice legislation.

Bolduc’s extreme agenda is wrong for New Hampshire.

• Bolduc has embraced extreme positions including cutting Social Security, decimating Medicare, abolishing the Department of Education, and defunding the Department of Homeland Security.

• Bolduc called for repealing the 17th Amendment — taking away the right for people to directly elect their own senators — and is open to abolishing the FBI.

Even Republicans agree that Bolduc is unfit to represent the Granite State – and tried to stop him from winning the primary.

• GOP Gov. Chris Sununu called Bolduc a “conspiracy-theory extremist” and “not a serious candidate” – and even admitted that “if he were the nominee, I have no doubt we would have a much harder time trying to win.” 

• GOP primary opponent Kevin Smith called Bolduc a “loose cannon” who “keeps shooting from the hip and walks his comments back.”

• New Hampshire Republican Cory Lewandowski called Bolduc “not a serious candidate.”

• Senate Republican’s super PAC bought $4.5 million in ads tarnishing Bolduc in order to try to stop him from winning the primary – including running an ad slamming Bolduc’s “crazy ideas.”
