In response to Senators Ron Johnson and Marco Rubio’s vote against funding the government, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Jazmin Vargas issued the following statement:
“If Johnson and Rubio had their way they would plunge our government into a shutdown –– these reckless political games are exactly what voters hate about Washington politics. Just like they always do, Rubio and Johnson are just following Trump’s directions, even if it means sacrificing the best interests of their states. In 2022, voters will hold them both accountable.”
