DSCC Spokesman Stewart Boss released the following statement in response to former President Trump’s endorsement of Marco Rubio, one of the most vulnerable incumbents in 2022:
“Marco Rubio is a weak candidate whose repeated failures to stand up for Floridians’ interests is putting his seat firmly in play, and creating another defensive headache for Washington Republicans. Trump’s toxic endorsement is another reminder for voters exactly what they don’t like about Rubio: he’s a self-serving politician who is only ever looking out for himself, while hardworking Floridians pay the price.”
Marco Rubio already has problems with a majority of Florida voters failing to support him. Analysts agree that the Florida Senate race “this cycle will likely be competitive.”
