WKOW: “State records show a trust fund started by Republican Sen. Ron Johnson hasn’t paid any Wisconsin taxes since 2016”
Republican Senate candidates have faced a brutal 24 hours of press coverage: Herschel Walker is facing more questions about his business record after the AP revealed his company “benefits from unpaid labor”; Mehmet Oz continues to be slammed by Pennsylvania doctors who say he “poses a threat” to the Commonwealth, and Ron Johnson is under fire after WKOW reported that his family trust and his business used loopholes to avoid paying state taxes.
See the coverage for yourself:
In Georgia, Herschel Walker – who has been caught repeatedly lying about the size and scope of his businesses – is facing yet another troubling revelation as the Associated Press revealed that his company took advantage of unpaid labor from a program lawyers have described as a “work camp.”
In Pennsylvania, the Centre Daily Times reported that PA doctors share a “deep concern” about Mehmet Oz and “say he poses a threat to Pennsylvanians.” Their opposition comes as a series of new reports have engulfed Oz’s campaign in scandal ahead of tonight’s debate.
And in Wisconsin, new reporting from WKOWrevealed that multi-millionaire Ron Johnson’s family trust used a loophole to avoid paying state taxes since 2016 – and that his company also did not pay any state taxes for the last several years. WKOW: From six-figure tax bills to $0: Why trust fund set up by Sen. Johnson no longer owes state taxes. “State records show a trust fund started by Republican Sen. Ron Johnson hasn’t paid any Wisconsin taxes since 2016. Before then, the fund paid hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in state taxes.”
