IN THE BATTLEGROUNDS: Democrats Highlight Third Round Of Tax Cuts Hitting Bank Accounts

As the third round of the expanded Child Tax Credit monthly payments hit Americans’ bank accounts today, Democrats in key Senate battlegrounds are reminding voters how Democrats delivered for American families by passing this historic tax cut –– while every single Republican incumbent and Senate candidate opposed putting more money in the pockets of hardworking families:

• In Arizona, ADP Chair Raquel Terán called out Arizona Republicans for opposing relief for AZ families:
  
  “Let’s not forget: This economic policy is thanks only to President Biden and Democrats in Congress. Not a single GOP lawmaker supported these middle-class tax cuts, once again proving that Democrats alone are fighting for Arizona workers, children, and families while Republicans focus on the tired politics and policies that led to Donald Trump.”

• In Florida, Florida Democratic Party Executive Director Marcus L. Dixon criticized vulnerable incumbent Marco Rubio for his hardline opposition to the tax cut:
  
  “Marco Rubio has blatantly opposed a middle class tax cut that has made it easier for millions of Florida families to make ends meet during the pandemic and lifted children out of poverty. Nearly 3.8 million children across the state are benefiting from this highly successful and popular tax cut that Rubio has boasted about voting against. Floridians deserve real leadership that will put them first, not a self-serving politician like Marco Rubio who puts his political agenda ahead of helping working families. If he won’t stand up for our kids, he won’t stand up for us.”

• In Georgia, Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia Congresswoman Nikema Williams celebrated Democrats’ accomplishments and condemned Georgia Republicans – including the entire GOP Senate field – for opposing a financial lifeline for Georgia families:
  
  “Today, millions of Georgia families will receive the third middle-class tax cut from the Child Tax Credit program thanks to President Joe Biden and Democrats. I’ve seen firsthand how these life changing tax cuts are already making an impact for Georgians who need it most. It is indefensible that every Georgia Republican — from Brian Kemp to the entire GOP Senate field — opposed this financial lifeline for Georgia families. Now is the time for Republicans to put aside their partisan political games to support the President’s agenda and extend the middle-class tax cuts permanently.”

• In North Carolina, the North Carolina Democratic Party highlighted Republican Senate candidates’ unanimous opposition to this historic tax relief for hardworking families:

• In Wisconsin, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin slammed vulnerable incumbent Senator Ron Johnson for voting against the tax cuts that will help roughly 1,000,000 Wisconsin children:
  
  “Ron Johnson tried to kill tax cuts for hard working Wisconsin families after working overtime to change the 2017 GOP tax scam bill that gave himself and his wealthiest donors hundreds of millions of dollars in massive tax handouts; we know exactly where his loyalties are. Wisconsinites know they can’t trust Ron Johnson to stand up for them and will hold him accountable next November.”

• And the DSCC highlighted the political cost Republicans will pay for opposing the tax cut:
  
  “As the third round of monthly tax cuts hit bank accounts, it’s the latest demonstration of how Democrats’ Senate majority is delivering for American families.
