IN THE BATTLEGROUNDS: Senate Democrats Highlight How Bipartisan Infrastructure Plan Grows Jobs & Rebuilds America

Voters in Senate battleground states are reading and watching how Democrats like Sens. Kelly, Warnock, Cortez Masto, and Hassan delivered for their constituents by passing the bipartisan infrastructure bill that will grow millions of good-paying jobs, help America out-compete other countries, and invest in our nation’s roads, bridges, clean drinking water, and high-speed internet.

AZ-KYMA: SL Port of Entry to receive $300 million according to Sen. Kelly

  • U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly toured the border and the San Luis Port of Entry today, to see just how severe the needs are when it comes to protection and staffing.
  • With the passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill the port will receive much needed repairs to help deal with the changes in pedestrian and vehicle traffic over the past 36 years.

AZ-Yuma Sun: Senator Kelly visits San Luis port of entry to review modernization plans

  • Having just met with leaders from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to tour the port of entry and discuss improvements, Kelly’s visit to the border was a result of the recently-passed infrastructure bill that will bring an additional $147 million to the San Luis border crossing modernization project.
  • With a total of $300 million for the project, Kelly shared that he’s excited to “see the shovel go in the ground here.”

GA-Atlanta Journal Constitution: What’s in the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill for Georgia

  • In Georgia, the infrastructure bill will bring an amount of provisions that will benefit Georgian’s over the next few years. Including minimum $8.9 billion for roads, $225 million for bridges, $100 million to increase broadband access, $1.4 billion for public transportation, $619 million for airports, and $8 million for The Port of Savannah, just to name a few.
  • Georgia will also get $135 million to help combat climate change. The infrastructure bill has set aside $50 billion to help communities adapt to the threats posed by climate change — such as rising sea levels and more damaging storms — that are already wreaking havoc on Georgia’s coast.

GA-Augusta Chronicle: Federal infrastructure deal to provide $225 million for repairing bridges across Georgia

  • Georgians can expect to see many bridges getting much needed repairs across the state thanks to the infrastructure bill. 
  • According to reports from the Georgia Department of Transportation, 374 bridges across the state are in poor condition. The money in the new infrastructure bill could be enough, according to Sen. Raphael Warnock, to repair 80% of these poor condition bridges.

NV-Nevada Independent: Infrastructure bill: More than $4 billion headed to Nevada for roads, bridges, airports and broadband

  • Nevada is poised to receive more than $4 billion over five years for highways, transit, broadband, airports and drought mitigation under the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure package recently approved by the House and sent to President Joe Biden for his signature.
  • Senator Cortez-Masto says the bill provides a critical $8.3 billion for Western water infrastructure and drought resilience and another $8 billion for wildfire prevention, risk reduction, detection and restoration.

NV-Las Vegas Sun (Editorial): Bipartisan infrastructure bill’s passage is a victory for Nevadans

  • Thanks to the work of Senators Catherine Cortez-Masto and Jacky Rosen, Nevadans can expect at least $4 billion in targeted funding in the package, and can compete for billions more in federal grants over the five-year duration of the legislation.
  • The money will address an array of needs such as rebuilding roads and bridges, boosting rangeland firefighting forces, curbing global warming, improving public transportation and much more.

NV-Nevada Current: Cortez Masto, Lee tout infrastructure bill, optimistic about social spending plan

  • Among the funding allocated from the infrastructure bill, Nevada is expected to get $2.5 billion in federal aid for highway apportioned programs, $293 million for airports, $459 million for public transportation and $100 million for broadband.
  • Cortez Masto said the funding is important to invest in the state’s “clean energy economy.”
  • “The infrastructure package is exciting because it’s investing in made in America products and manufacturing, which will strengthen our supply chain and really prioritize American goods and American jobs,” she said.

  • “New Hampshire will receive more than $1 billion for roads and bridge repair over the next five years, plus more than $400 million for clean water, and a minimum of $100 million to provide high-speed internet throughout the state.”

NH-New Hampshire Patch: New Hampshire Gets Billions From Infrastructure Bill: PM Patch NH

  • The state’s federal delegation was in Manchester on Tuesday promoting “robust investments” that will benefit New Hampshire that were featured in the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act heading to President Joe Biden to be signed.
  • In New Hampshire the infrastructure bill will provide about $1.3 billion to repair roads and bridges in the state while another $418 million will be used for water infrastructure across five years.
  • Additionally, the bipartisan bill will give New Hampshire $100 million dollars to help more people access high-speed Internet and $125 million will go to improving public transportation options during the next five years. Airport money and wildfire fighting funds, too, are in the bill as well.
