The Increasingly Bad Choices Facing Florida’s GOP Voters in US Senate Primary
Just three months away from the U.S. Senate primary in Florida, and the choices facing Florida’s Republican voters keep looking more disheartening by the day. To review:
Behind Door 1: You have the “Little Trump of Florida,” who recently made headlines for referring to the President as an “animal” and calling for the country to implement a travel ban against anyone from a Middle Eastern county, excluding Israel. Hello Carlos Beruff.
Behind Door 2: You have a former lobbyist who donated to many members of Congress he previously lobbied now calling for a ban on member fundraising. No wonder a Miami Herald columnist recently noted “There is a slight whiff of sanctimony in the air.” Welcome David Jolly!
Behind Door 3: You have no-show Lieutenant Governor who is desperately waiting for the endorsement of a U.S. Senator who just lost his home state by nearly 20 points in the presidential primary. Good to see you Carlos Lopez-Cantera.
Behind Door 4: You have a Tea Party member of Congress who was just slammed by both Republicans and Democrats for fundraising off of an official investigation. Thanks Ron DeSantis.
Behind Door 5: A hopeful who (falsely) believes that waterboarding works and that it’s an effective interrogation tool. Greetings Todd Wilcox.
Great recruiting job NRSC!
