Sadie Weiner, Communications Director of the DSCC, released the following statement after the Koch-backed group Concerned Veterans for America announced the latest effort to prop up vulnerable Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey:
“As the former president of a powerful Washington special interest group, Pat Toomey is no stranger to outside groups trying to influence elections, but this time it’s a Koch Brothers front group that’s spending to prop up Toomey’s struggling campaign. Toomey is a reliable vote for these big-moneyed interests and they are rightly panicked about how vulnerable he is next year. Unfortunately for Toomey, no amount of spending by the billionaire Koch brothers’ dark money groups will erase his record of voting against Pennsylvania’s best interests.”
