The Republican lawsuit to drive up health care costs and gut coverage protections for people with pre-existing conditions is in court today, and the DSCC is launching new ads targeting Senator Susan Collins for refusing to take action to protect Mainers’ care. This is the DSCC’s latest investment in digital ads holding Senator Collins accountable for her toxic record on health care.
Senator Collins has voted repeatedly to repeal the health care law, which would spike costs and dismantle health care protections for Mainers. She helped pass the reckless tax giveaway that laid the foundation for her party’s dangerous lawsuit and when asked about her vote, Collins said, “Let me be clear I… would support it again today.”
“As Republicans go to court to end protections for Mainers with pre-existing conditions, Senator Collins should consider herself on notice,” said DSCC spokesperson Stewart Boss. “Collins helped pass the reckless tax handout that made this lawsuit possible, and had she and Mitch McConnell gotten their way, Republicans would have passed legislation long ago to raise the cost of care and tear away coverage protections for her constituents. Senator Collins is part of the problem and Mainers can’t afford her dangerous agenda.”
