The DSCC is launching a new digital ad to remind Coloradans why Senator Cory Gardner is still pushing to gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions: his donors. Two years ago in the wake of the GOP failure to repeal the health care law, Gardner fretted “donors are furious” and would cut off campaign cash ahead of the midterm elections — showing more concern for politics than the constituents who would lose coverage.
Now, Gardner is refusing to oppose his party’s reckless lawsuit that would send health care costs soaring and gut coverage protections for Coloradans with pre-existing conditions. And while Gardner has shown he’ll do whatever it takes to please his wealthy donors, he still “has yet to produce a specific plan” to protect the Coloradans who stand to lose the most from his dangerous attacks on their health care.
“Senator Gardner is still more concerned about the special interests funding his campaign than he is about Coloradans — and that is exactly why he’s the most vulnerable Republican senator in the country,” said DSCC spokesperson Stewart Boss. “We’ll make sure voters know exactly who he’s looking out for in Washington and it isn’t Colorado.”
The digital ad is running on Facebook and Twitter.
