The Columbus Dispatch reports that this weekend, Washington special interest lapdog Rob Portman, alongside right-wing extremist Ted Cruz, will be a “featured speaker” at a summit sponsored by the Koch brothers. Earlier this year the Kochs announced they would spendalmost a billion dollars to buy the 2016 election. With Portman’s record of outsourcing jobs, pushing to privatize Social Security, and supporting a plan to turn Medicare into a voucher program, it should come as no surprise that he’s standing with Ted Cruz and the Koch brothers, who also don’t have Ohio’s best interests at heart.
“The Koch Brothers are openly attempting to buy this election to promote their extreme policies, and they know there’s no one more interested in selling out to the highest bidder than Rob Portman,” said Sadie Weiner, DSCC National Press Secretary. “Rob Portman is a favorite among the Washington insiders and shadowy outside groups who have already started working to prop him up, and it’s clear from his record that he’s willing to let these big money donors call the shots to the detriment of Ohio families.”
