Ron Johnson’s Against A Minimum Wage But Says $700K A Year Is A “Reasonable Compensation Level”

Yesterday Huffington Post reported that embattled Senator Ron Johnson called his $10 million compensation package, broken down to $700,000 a year, a pretty reasonable compensation levelduring an interview on Wisconsin radio. Johnson was trying to defend his 2010 shady campaign  finance scheme, but ended up showing how wildly out of touch with Wisconsinites he is.

That’s right, the same Ron Johnson who said there “shouldn’t be” a federal minimum wage — and called proposals to raise the minimum wage “disturbing” — thinks his own $700,000 a year compensation package is “pretty reasonable.”Tell that to the minimum wage workers in Wisconsin, who the Huffington Post reported make just $15,080 a year.

“Ron Johnson is so wildly out of touch with Wisconsin families that he thinks $700,000 a year is a ‘reasonable compensation level,’ but called proposals to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour ‘disturbing,’” said Sadie Weiner, DSCC National Press Secretary. “That kind of hypocrisy isn’t going to fly with Wisconsin voters and only makes it more important for Ron Johnson to finally end his years of silence and give some straight answers on his shady $10 million campaign reimbursement scheme.”
