Today, Senator Toomey chose to protect millionaires and billionaires rather than support an amendment that would expand access to high-quality preschool programs. Senator Toomey joined Republican Senators up for re-election next year in voting to kill the Casey amendment to expand access to quality early childhood education.
“In a shameful display of partisanship, Senator Toomey voted to protect millionaires and billionaires from paying their fair share rather than give nearly 94,000 children in Pennsylvania access to high-quality early preschool,” said Sadie Weiner, DSCC National Press Secretary. “Every child deserves a strong foundation for their future regardless of how much money their family earns, and Pennsylvania families deserve better than a Senator who prioritizes millionaires and billionaires over their state’s children.”
